WaypointHR Free and WaypointHR On-Demand include an absence planning tool as standard, allowing HR departments and line managers to keep track of holiday entitlements, annual leave taken and number of days remaining in a holiday year. You can also record sickness and injury absence periods.
We also have available an advanced Online Absence Management software tool to help organisations track, monitor, manage and analyse absence records, trends and sick leave. This online tool reduces the need for paper-based records, speeds up the sickness and medical investigation process and includes both an online employee sickness self-certification portal and medical investigation process facility.
Absence Planner
Each employee you record on WaypointHR is assigned a current absence record allowing you to record different types of leave, including:
- Annual leave entitlements
- Sickness and injury
- Training and development days
- Other types of leave (such as maternity)
- Whole days and half days leave
Review, Monitor and Approve Leave
Our easy-to-use absence planner includes standard facilities allowing you to:
- View individual and departmental leave records
- Assess current, future and historical absence data
- Sort records by department, individual employee or set of individuals
- Record annual leave requests and days to be taken
- Approve absence leave requests
- Record sickness and injury absence
- Monitor absence, sickness and injury absence levels
- Review, approve and record training and development days
- Add you own legend items for company specific types of leave
Inform and Keep-in-Touch
Employees can access our Online Absence Management portal to provide you with initial sick leave details (from home via the web) and complete a sickness self certification SSP1 form before they even return to work (which is sent via email direct to your inbox). This means your line managers are always kept informed and updated of periods and reasons for sickness, helping you to manage periods of sickness and injury more effectively.
This facility also ensures all periods of sickness and injury absence are handled in similar and consistent manner (helping to avoid possible claims of discrimination) and helping you to keep-in-touch with employees who are on short-term and long-term sick leave.
Online Absence Management Tool
Our Online Absence Management Software is a web-based application, requiring no in-house server, no software installation, no maintenance and no internal IT support. Off-site data storage, software support and data back-ups are all included in the cost of this online application.
This online tool is highly customisable to meet your organisation's needs and includes a self service portal for completion of self certification forms and medical reports.

Our web-based Online Absence Management software is easy-to-use and accessible from any PC via a web browser and includes many features to help you and your line managers monitor, manage and handle sickness, injury and medical related absences.

- Request additional information from an employee (such as a doctors certificate)
- Define and request completion of a return-to-work form
- Online completion and email receipt of return-to-work forms
- Analyse sickness and injury absence levels
- View online, drill-down results and print management reports
- Commence and record the medical investigation process and home visits
- Request medical reports via email

- Record and handle capability issues (including occupational health and dismissal)
Analyse, Report and Reduce Absence
With our Online Absence Management software you can also analyse and report on absence data, including identifing trends and patterns across your organisation that may highlight issues such as recurrent or excessive absence.
HR departments and line managers can also use our interactive manager assessment and analysis tool to review and print flexible management reports.
