MySQL is an open source database management system...
Because we believe in the open source community and that all organisations can benefit from using open source software, WaypointHR utilises MySQL as it's database engine.
MySQL is a client/server grade relational database management system and is freely available for download.
MySQL is also the database engine of choice for some of the most demanding, high volume, business critical applications. As a platform, MySQL is also extremely well supported and maintained, and that's why we like using it.
If you intend to manage WaypointHR Free our free software version on your own in-house server, you will need to download and install MySQL (and PHP).
MySQL can be downloaded from www.mysql.org, or as part of a complete distribution including the operating system from sites such as www.ubuntu.com
